There must be an angel playing with my heart…
I always thought that angels were those things you bought as a child and cut them out to put in scrap books – remember them? Not so. I am very fortunate to know some real live angels – one in particular – and you know who you are.
So what makes a good angel then? Is it the ethereal glow that they emit, or of course the dead give away – the wings? Actually no, they are people who have that ability to grasp life and cherish it.
My online dictionary tells me that ‘to cherish’ means ‘to treat with affection and tenderness; hold dear’. Now that’s the kind of people we all need more of in our life.
So when was the last time you truly cherished something – stopped in your tracks and noticed, appreciated and showed how much you value something, or more importantly someone?
One particular angel in my life has the ability to empathise and swear at the same time, so yes she is aware and impacted by the negative, but has this wonderful ability to turn things around. Importantly she is someone who teaches you something – if you listen – you will learn.
So yes there are angels amongst us – walking around, ploughing through life, carrying thier burdens, but still finding time to smell the roses, or whatever other flowers are in season. You might even have some in your life, if you’re lucky. So open your eyes, your heart and your mind – at least that’s what all the angels in my life have taught me to do.
So when the sun isn’t shining, the work is piling up, you’re stressed and things are looking bleak – remember angels aren’t like buses; one doesn’t come along every five minutes, but if you wait long enough you will always find one.
Somebody once told me ‘when the student is ready the teacher will come’ and they do, in their many forms – usually without the ethereal glow and wings – but they are there, so happy hunting – bet you find one!
