Let it snow…..

I notice that WordPress have added a nifty little thing that makes snow fall on your screen. I’ve decided to turn mine off as this is what I awoke to this morning…

It is already pretty bad out there and it seems that we are well and truly in for it. So back to scraping the car and crawling to work on completely white roads.

Last year it was so bad that my wee car didn’t move for a month, but I dug her out this morning and off we trundled. Thank goodness the holidays are coming….

Now where are my thermal knickers!

  1. Lovely, but cold! Down south we are cold & sunny with no snow, so I’m leaving my fake snow on! We rarely have what I call ‘proper weather’ here (north of London outside the M25). So, although I’m sure the beauty of it wears off as you struggle into work, I envy you your ‘proper’ weather.

  2. To be honest I love it really. It’s to get bad today and tomorrow so I’ll be leaving the car at home and trudging to work in my trusty walking boots. There is something quite magical about walking in the snow and as long as you’re wrapped up there is really nothing to complain about. It also makes everything look so beautiful. Maybe I could send you some for Christmas – it seems that we are going to have plenty.

  3. I have had I -want-to-be-in-Scotland-too! envy for a while reading your blog. And I have you-got-snow-and-we-didn’t-get-any-snow envy now. But, not driving-in-the-snow envy, because I pretty much suck at that. :o )

  4. I do love snow. Where are you? Dundee was meant to get a dump last night but we just got hard frost. Quite glad as I was housebound last January after breaking my ankle slipping in snow outside the house! Eek! Not recommended!

  5. Hi PhD, I’m in Inverness. I didn’t realise you were based in Dundee – not so far from me really. If I have any tutorials down your way I’ll give you a shout. Looks like it is going to be bad over the next few days. Last year was terrible. I had quite a few falls too. Keep warm.

      • Thank you PhD – I’ll certainly do that. Likewise if you fancy a break from PhD writing feel free to decant to the Highlands. It would be lovely to meet up.

  6. No snow in the south yet – or the west. But it’s a tad chilly!

Keep warm, keep safe. Carry a sleeping bag in the car and a bottle of water. Extra socks……

    I expect you do anyway!

  7. Actually I don’t – I’m hopeless at all that stuff. Thankfully my journey is not too far and I’m not planning on any long journeys – will be walking from tomorrow me thinks!

  8. I can certainly understand your turning the snow off. I left it on last year and will again this year. It goes well with most of my posts these days and I do so love snow. It reminds me of wonderful snowy Christmases-gone-by when I was growing up in the mountains. It would be a real fluke to get snow here in the Piedmont of NC this early. But I can wish.

  9. I think snow is magical and very nice on the mountains. But living in an heavy populated area snow is a terrific problem around here! It seems that there is no snow in the Alps until now…

  10. I remember the static inside out TV sets we used to call “snow.” That’s what the gentle snow on WordPress kind of reminds me of–bad reception on my lap top screen. YIKES! I didn’t turn it on so as not to freak out any blogger old enough to remember rabbit ear antenna and poor reception. ;)

The snow looks lovely. I’m waiting for some to fall around here…

    • I think we still have one of those rabbit ear antenna kicking about somewhere. I remember having to stand in different places trying to get a reception. Happy days
