Hope, expectations and a bit of impromptu dancing thrown in
So, did you dance?
A friend, Billy, read my blog yesterday. He’s a new reader yet despite his busy, busy life I’m touched that he takes the time to stop by read, and comment. He drew my attention to this clip. If dancing is the thing – then his recommendation has got to be one of the best ways to start the day. With a surprise!
This made me think of Jane’s post I read this morning about hope and expectation. Jane is a lady after my own heart and her take on life makes me both laugh and challenges me to think and reflect. If you’ve watched the clip of this busy train station in London it would be fair to reflect that the folk travelling to work that day were probably hoping that there would be no disruption, their journey’s would progress without complication and that they would get to work, or wherever they were going, on time. I doubt that any of them had the expectation of being treated to such an uplifting event.
I only hope that one day I experience a start to my day like the one Billy suggested – and hey, maybe in this life if we have hope then the expectation will follow. Here’s to life and all the surprises it presents to us – because some of them are uplifting.
Thank you Billy and Jane for your inspiration.
This also fits neatly into this…
Lorna, who is a blogger extraordinaire wrote a post last week inspired by Amy at Soul Dipper with a call to us bloggers to Occupy the Blogosphere every Thursday and give the planet a shot of fun, support and positive energy. It an opportunity to share something you’ve been wanting to tell the world.
So, if you’re pondering what to write about today – how about using your post to ‘Occupy the Blogosphere’ with some positivity. I hope you do and I have every expectation that us bloggers can give the planet the shot of fun and positive energy it needs this Thursday – and for many Thursdays to come.

I love a good flash mob and live in hope that some fine day I’ll accidentally stumble across one! What I loved about this is how receptive the crowd were – I’ve been in Liverpool Street station and always think that there – and in London and big cities in general – people don’t even look around them and yet they did to this. Which suggests to me that in cities we all create a sort of facade to survive the crowds and bustle and expectation but it’s a pretty flimsy facade really – easily torn away – which for some reason is heartening for me!
It’s almost a kind of performance art that everyone can join in with. I think something like this, that makes you look from side to side instead of straight ahead and engage with others is wonderful. I love the old lady dancing – very heartening indeed.
Jacqueline thank you and your posts are witty and insightful too…I love the London Station clip…all those smiles and dancing…what a great start to the day – Jane x
Thank you Jane
Secretly (OK, OK, not so secretly! lol) I would LOVE to be in a flash mob.
i have long been of the opinion that the world would be a much better place, if we all spontaneously broke into song-and-dance montages once in a while.

Love it! Thanks.
You’re welcome Pat – happy to pass it on.
That was fun to watch! It put an image in my mind of how my company wide meeting would have ended if we would have done this! We would have been in a better mood that is for sure!
Now that WOULD be a way to end a meeting. Pleased you enjoyed the clip.

Her blog has a bit of everything. It’s fun to see what she comes up with to share. My favorite recent post is hope, expectations and a bit of impromptu dancing thrown in. [...]
